Information Session: Volunteering with Palliative Care ACT

Information Session: Volunteering with Palliative Care ACT

Everything you need to know before you join the PCACT volunteer program.

Interested in Volunteering with Palliative Care ACT?

Have you ever considered volunteering in a role that offers genuine connection and meaningful support to people with a life-limiting illness?

Palliative Care ACT is hosting an information session for people interested in becoming a volunteer. This session is designed to give you a clear understanding of the roles available and what’s involved in joining our volunteer team.

Our Volunteer Coordinators will talk through:

  • The different areas where volunteers are involved
  • What each role looks like in practice
  • The skills and personal qualities we’re seeking
  • Training, supervision and ongoing support
  • The application and screening process

Volunteers support clients and families in a variety of settings, including:

  • Home-visiting in the community
  • Retirement and aged care facilities
  • Our respite home, Leo’s Place
  • Life Stories, helping clients record and reflect on their experiences

Each role plays an important part in providing comfort, dignity and connection to people receiving palliative care and their families.

Volunteering in this space calls for compassion, reliability, emotional maturity and a willingness to learn. In return, it offers the opportunity to make a profound difference in someone’s life.

If you’d like to learn more and explore whether volunteering with Palliative Care ACT is right for you, we warmly invite you to attend.

We look forward to meeting you.
